What is AutoPIPE? What is AutoPIPE used for?

When the deliverable is reliable pipe and vessel designs, there is no need to spend time doing something your software can do for you. AutoPIPE is an analysis and design application used to calculate piping stresses, loads, and deflections under static and dynamic load conditions. With extensive interoperability across other industry applications as well as time-saving features like the new support optimizer, AutoPIPE helps ensure quality, cost-effective designs, and a smooth workflow for engineers who use it.

How does AutoPIPE help with pipe stress analysis?
With AutoPIPE, you can:

  • Save time with an easy-to-use application
    Easily create and modify pipe stress models by using the object-based OpenGL graphical user interface. You can simply point and click to insert, modify, or delete components for instant visual updates and modify parameters across a range of points with just one command. Tracking changes or making modifications can be done in a snap to help save time and eliminate otherwise cumbersome tasks.
  • Perform advanced analysis and design

With AutoPIPE’s 3D hot clash detection you can eliminate errors up-front and perform ‘what-if’ analysis to quickly evaluate various design scenarios.

AutoPIPE is a common pipe stress design and analysis software known for its intuitiveness. Not only is it affordable and reliable, but it offers customizable reporting, automated support structure optimization, and makes it easy to import and export various file formats such as CAESAR II files to save time and eliminate errors. AutoPIPE is offered in various versions so you can choose which version is best for you.

What is the difference between AutoPIPE and CAESAR?

  • AutoPIPE offers machine learning support optimization saving hundreds of design hours. It also offers buried pipeline design and analysis capabilities, with 3D hot clash interference detection. 
  • Advanced interoperability allows you to import structural models from applications like SACS for offshore projects or structural analysis applications like STAAD so it’s easy to include the structural steel flexibilities in the pipe model. Structural and piping engineers work more efficiently together reducing risks and non-conformances.
  • AutoPIPE includes support for many international design codes including ASME B31 J, as well as ASME III Nuclear codes for class 1, 2, and 3 piping. (Available in AutoPIPE Nuclear sold by Bentley directly.)

What is AutoPIPE compatible with?

AutoPIPE has full interoperability between OpenPlant, STAAD, SACS, or 3rd party products like CAESAR, SmartPlant, PDMS, or PDS.  This allows the pipe design to be automatically imported into the pipe stress analysis program through a PXF file, PCF file or similar. Advanced mapping ensures piping geometry, pipe properties, material, component class, support data and more are imported correctly. This workflow allows the piping to be modeled just once, increasing efficiency and eliminating manual errors.

What regional codes does AutoPIPE support?

Over thirty international design codes are supported including multiple years of ASME III, B31.1, B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, EN13480, CSA-Z662, ISO14692, DNV F101, ASME B31 J. AutoPIPE is one of the few pipestress analysis programs that adheres to the strictest international quality standards, including ISO 9001, NQA-1, 10CFR50 and approved by NIAC, NUPIC since 1986.
